"Need you to receive medical attention" - MLB analyst goes nuclear over critics backing Brandon Nimmo over Francisco Lindor

The New York Mets are going through a rebuild this offseason after parting ways with franchise cornerstones like Pete Alonso, Brandon Nimmo, Edwin Diaz and Jeff McNeil.

Nimmo, who made his MLB debut with the Mets in 2016, was traded to the Texas Rangers for Marcus Semien, ending his nine-year stint with the NL East franchise.

Following his departure, a Mets fan argued on X that the veteran outfielder is better than five-time All-Star Francisco Lindor:

"I mean ur saying Lindor is a better met then Nimmo? What has lindor has done here other the one swing ? They both aren’t worthy of Mets Hall of fame but Pete Alonso was."

MLB analyst Jake Brown, who had initially posted about Lindor's Hall of Fame candidacy, fired back at the fan, writing:

"If you think Nimmo is better than Lindor I need you to receive medical attention 😂😂😂"

Nimmo finished his Mets career with a .262 batting average, 135 home runs and 463 RBIs, serving the team for almost a decade.

Rangers "excited" about Brandon Nimmo's quality

The veteran outfielder slashed 262/.324/.436 with 25 home runs and 92 RBIs in 2025. While the Mets moved on from Brandon Nimmo to strengthen their infield, the Rangers welcomed the veteran outfielder's addition to the team.

Rangers manager Skip Schumaker reflected on the impact Nimmo could have on the lineup ahead of the 2026 season.

"What we needed was outfield production, obviously, and Brandon's definitely going to provide that," Schumaker said. "Left-handed hitter, all the things that we know we are looking for."

Schumaker also highlighted the 32-year-old former Mets slugger's leadership qualities in the clubhouse.

"I think he's going to provide some leadership in that clubhouse, had some really good conversations with him lately, and so he's excited, we're excited, and I think he's going to really be helpful, especially at the top of the order."

The Rangers had one of the worst offenses last season and Nimmo's addition was a move in the right direction for the 2023 World Series winners.
