Why Golden 1 Center is a strong March Madness stop
The Bay Area is winning 2026 when it comes to sports. The Super Bowl, the NCAA men's basketball tournament and the NCAA women's basketball tournament. The men's West regional will go down in San Jose while the women's will tip off in Sacramento.
If that wasn't convincing enough, the home of the NBA's Kings have plenty of other selling points. Maybe even 17,500 of your closest friends are convincing enough.
Golden 1 Center is easily accessible by public transit. However, you won't even need to go far to see what else Sacramento has to offer. The arena is located downtown, just steps away from the California Capitol as well as plenty of hotels and restaurants. The waterfront over the Sacramento River sits just to the west side of the venue, putting the Golden 1 Center in the perfect spot for visitors.
What to know before you go
If you're headed to the Golden 1 Center, there's a few things to keep in mind before tipoff.
While the venue can be accessed using public transit, those planning to park should buy passes in advance. You can do so on StubHub by clicking the "parking" tab at the top of the page.
Bags must be no larger than 8"x6"x1" but diaper and medical bags are exempt to this size and will be security searched. Backpacks are prohibited.
Golden 1 Center is a cashless stadium, accepting payment through cards and mobile devices. The arena does not have a cash-to-card system.
The venue opens about 60 minutes prior to tipoff.
