Three sessions will be played at the SAP Center, the Sweet 16 on March 26 and Elite 8 on March 28. An all-sessions pass currently costs $630 while single-session passes are priced at $275.

March Madness has arrived at the SAP Center.

The Sweet 16 will tip off Thursday, March 26 while the Elite 8 will play Saturday, March 28.

Why SAP Center is a strong March Madness stop

The SAP Center is no stranger to March Madness, hosting first/second round matchups in 2010, 2013 and 2019 as well as regional games in 1997, 2002, 2007 and 2017. The "Shark Tank" as it's also known ,hosted a variety of events throughout its history, including the US Figure Skating Championships, UFC, MMA, the Golden State Valkyries and the CrossFit Games. 

The arena is set in downtown San Jose, just blocks away from the San Jose Mineta International Airport. It's easily accessible by public transit, but you can easily walk to surrounding restaurants, hotels and museums. Plus, Sa Francisco is a short drive around the bay.

A premier facility last renovated in 2023, the SAP Center is the perfect facility for basketball fans hoping to explore the Bay Area. 

What to know before you go

With a capacity of 19,000, the SAP Center plays home to the San Jose Sharks. It's also a host for a variety of sports and entertainment headed to Northern California.

Fans headed to San Jose for March Madness should prepare in advance for parking. Over 3,000 spaces can be found surrounding the arena, but you can purchase spots in advance on StubHub. Click the "parking" tab at the top of the page to view available lots and garages.

When entering the SAP Center, be advised the venue uses mobile tickets so patrons must have their game ticket downloaded on their device. Gates open one hour before tipoff.

Bags up to 20"x14"x11" are allowed, however any bag larger than 5"x9"x2" is subject to X-Ray inspection. There are no bag check options available at the SAP Center.

Additionally, the SAP Center is a cashless facility, using credit cards and mobile payments as acceptable forms. Those who have cash can convert it into a prepaid card at the Reverse ATMs near the North and South entrances.
