It’s a 2-pack Sunday in the NBA Playoffs, and one of those crossover days.
On one side, you’ve got the Cavs and Pacers kicking off Round 2.
But later that evening, you’ve got the Warriors and Rockets putting the finishing touches on Round 1 with a must-see Game 7.
We’ll take both matchups and roll them into our set of NBA player pros. Check out our free NBA picks below.

Fred VanVleet Over 3.5 3-point makes vs Warriors (+130 at Bet365)
Forgive the Warriors for having Fred VanVleet Toronto Raptor flashbacks. He’s been as good as the 2019 version of himself that helped knock off GState for the title.
The veteran guard has been mighty impactful (that, and a 2-big lineup!) as the steadying offensive force for a Rockets team looking to be the 14th team in NBA history to come back from a 3-1 series deficit.
FVV has scored at least 25 points in three straight games, and he’s been unconscious from distance, going 18-for-27 through Games 5-7, a 66.7% clip.
He’s shooting 42.9% from beyond the arc in the series, and he’s topped his 3.5 make line in three straight games.
VanVleet has plus odds, and I like him staying in the groove in a high-pressure environment.
Donovan Mitchell Over 26.5 points vs Pacers (-115 at Bet365)
Forgive Donovan Mitchell for gearing down in Round 1 against Miami. After back-to-back 30-point games to open the series, the Cavaliers absolutely obliterated the Heat in the following two games en route to a sweep.
Mitchell scored a total of just 35 points over those two final two games, but we should see the elite version of him Sunday as the Cavs open their series against the Pacers.
Mitchell usually lights up Indiana: in his last eight games vs the Pacers as a Cav, he’s gone over his 26.5 scoring line set for Game 1 six times, topping the 30-point plateau five times, and touching 40 points twice.
Buddy Hield Under 7.5 points (-140 at Bet365)
You would think that Buddy Hield’s shooting would be paramount in stretching a defense like Houston’s.
But Hield has gone radio silent in two closeout games, and there’s little to indicate he’s going to be a factor in Game 7.
He produced zero points on four shots in 17 minutes of work in Game 6 at home, after putting up just four points on 2-for-6 shooting in Game 5.
Save for a pair of good-shooting nights from distance in Games 3 and 4 at home – where he averaged 16 points – Hield has totaled 11 points in the other four games combined.
Game 7 will be heavy doses of Steph Curry and Jimmy Butler, but I don’t see Hield being a contributing player in this winner-take-all showdown.
Cleveland has plenty of depth and star power across its roster, but Mitchell should be the one leading the charge to start this series.
