NBA Player Props Picks for April 22
Luka Doncic Over 30.5 points vs Timberwolves (-115 at Bet365)
On a personal level, Luka Doncic continues to deliver in the playoffs, as he kicked off Round 1 against the Timberwolves with 37 points on a nice 12-for-22 outing.
Despite that, Los Angeles not only failed to hit 100 points, but they were blasted by 22 and lost home court to Minnesota.
Still, Doncic is a good bet to go off in the postseason. Minnesota was begging him to go 1-on-1 and not letting him create for others, as evidenced by just a single assist on the night.
JJ Redick’s counter to this might be to get LeBron James to facilitate a bit more, letting Doncic score on the move, rather than stagnating things in isolation.
Either way, Doncic is going to get his.
Damian Lillard Over 2.5 3-point makes vs Pacers (-115 at Bet365)
By the way, he was facing up to Pascal Siakam and Tyrese Haliburton in street clothes – and getting a tech for it! – Damian Lillard should be must-watch TV in Game 2 of the Bucks vs Pacers.
This is all contingent on him being able to go, as he’s been recovering from a blood clot in his thigh, but the books have Dame on their player props for the time being.
Lillard shot a crisp 37.6% from 3-point range on nine attempts per game this season, his best statistical year shooting the rock in the last four, though he was limited to just 58 games.
He’s averaged at least three makes per game in every month but October this year, and has rung up the Pacers for at least three triples in four matchups.
Jump on that 2.5 make line and bang the Over while you can.
Zach Edey Over 8.5 points vs Thunder (-115 at Bet365)
In one of the most extreme overreactions from Game 1 of Grizzlies-Thunder, pundits asked if Zach Edey should be benched the rest of the series against OKC.
Edey wasn’t great, but the rookie was just a small component of Memphis getting torched by 51 in Game 1 by the Thunder.
Maybe the team showing up would be the better critique, or the 24 turnovers that led to 24 points, or the 6-for-34 shooting from 3-point range.
OKC might just be that good, but Memphis is not that bad, and with a better effort, they should be able to compete in Game 2.
Edey played well in a pair of play-in games, averaging 14.5 points across wins over the Warriors and Mavericks, but he’ll need to adjust against the elite Thunder.
He has yet to top the 8.5 scoring line in four games now vs OKC this season, but Memphis needs to ground this game down a bit, and getting buckets inside from their big man would be a big help.
