The Philadelphia 76ers will start the NBA season as one of the league's more interesting teams.

There's reason to believe Philadelphia could be in a position to win a championship, though it remains uncertain how things will look on both sides of the ball because of some questions it has to answer.

Mainly, those questions should come on the defensive side. As I've said before, if this 76ers offense isn't one of the best we've ever seen in the NBA, that will be a problem for head coach Nick Nurse.

There's also the injury side of things, though there's reason to believe Philadelphia has guys who will be on the court every night outside of Joel Embiid and perhaps an older LeBron James.

Embiid said earlier in the week that he understands that people have their concerns about sacrificing. However, the MVP said there is no reason to sacrifice anything, and guys can just play their game.

That's the ideal outcome and a nice way to look at it, but it's probably unrealistic.

Top NBA insider Shams Charania of ESPN pushed back on that notion, adding that someone or some players will have to sacrifice something.

“Joel Embiid said the other day that there's no sacrifice… I have to say, there's going to be sacrifice. Someone or some player is going to have to sacrifice,” he said.

The issue that could come up is that there is only one basketball on the court.

That doesn't mean the 76ers' offense can't be great, but it's something to consider. I'm not as worried about that as some others seem to be, but I also think that suggesting nobody will have to sacrifice is wishful thinking and unrealistic.
