NBA analyst delivers clear Derrick White prediction before Celtics-Knicks series

The Boston Celtics are set to play the New York Knicks in the second round of the NBA playoffs. The Celtics defeated the Orlando Magic in the last round, while the Knicks are coming off a win against the Detroit Pistons.

It's a historic battle between the two teams, with their Eastern Conference semi-final set to be the 16th playoff meeting. Celtics currently lead the series with eight wins. With seven wins, the Knicks have the opportunity to restore parity.

The Boston Celtics' Derrick White has scored 265 triples so far this season. Analyst Andy Bailey expects White to build on that record against the Knicks.

Analyst makes bold Derrick White prediction for the Celtics-Knicks series

Bailey reckons Derrick White will set a new career high for threes in a playoff game. His current record is three, and considering the Knicks' vulnerability, Bailey expects White to top that in the upcoming series.

He wrote for Bleacher Report, "The Celtics just obliterated the all-time record for threes in a single regular season. The Knicks, on the other hand, gave up the seventh-highest opponents' three-point percentage."

He further added, "Boston will take advantage of their sometimes spotty perimeter defense, and Derrick White (who led the team with 265 triples this season) seems like a prime candidate to do so. In the playoffs, his career high for threes in a single game is eight. And in this series against New York, he'll top that."
