Not every NBA team lives and dies by the 3-pointer, but there is no doubt that a hot shooting night is tough to beat.
After some clutch shooting by the Knicks in the opening games of the NBA Finals, the pendulum swung back the way of the Spurs in New York, with San Antonio looking unstoppable from 3-point range in Game 4 on Wednesday.
The Spurs' barrage from deep set an NBA record for 3-pointers in the first half of a Finals game with 14 and made a charge at the all-time NBA Finals record for one game.
Here's a look at which teams made the most 3-pointers in an NBA Finals game and how the Spurs' Game 4 outburst compares to the record.

Most 3-pointers in NBA Finals game
The record for most 3-pointers in an NBA Finals game by one team belongs to the 2017 Cavaliers, who needed 24 to earn their one and only win over the Warriors in that series.
Here's a look at every instance of a team making at least 19 3s in a Finals game:
| Team | Year (Game) | 3-pointers | Opponent |
| Cavaliers | 2017 (Game 4) | 24 | Warriors |
| Celtics | 2022 (Game 1) | 21 | Warriors |
| Suns | 2021 (Game 2) | 20 | Bucks |
| Warriors | 2019 (Game 5) | 20 | Raptors |
| Warriors | 2022 (Game 6) | 19 | Celtics |
| Warriors | 2022 (Game 1) | 19 | Celtics |
Interestingly, the only four teams to make 20 3-pointers in an NBA Finals game all lost their series. The Celtics lost four of their next five games against the Warriors in 2022, while the 2021 Suns lost four straight to the Bucks and the 2019 Warriors dropped Game 6 against the Raptors.
The Warriors unsurprisingly make up three of the top six performances, as they also had two games of 19 3-pointers against the Celtics in the 2022 NBA Finals.
With 14 in the first half against the Knicks, the Spurs put themselves in position to surge up the leaderboard even with some natural second half regression.
