The Arizona Diamondbacks are playing well. They come into Thursday's games with a 34-34 record, which places them third in the National League West.
They have played well at home, but their .500 record would look much better right now if they could figure out their road woes. They are 21-14 at home while going 13-20 when not in Arizona.
So, while the team tries to figure out how to get more consistent on the road, the front office is getting ready for the draft. The team holds the No. 15 pick later this summer, and there's sure to be some elite talent still on the board when the team gets on the clock.

Mock draft suggests Diamondbacks are high on a fast-rising high school prospect
There's no denying that the D-backs will have to come into the draft with a few players in mind. There's no telling how the board will fall, and no team wants to be left scrambling at the last minute.
Some of the bigger names will likely be gone, but The Athletic's Keith Law has come out with a new mock draft, trying to make sense of the first round. In it, he has Arizona taking South Carolina high school slugger Bo Lawrance.
"Lowrance is 6-foot-5, so he may be too tall for the Diamondbacks, but he's separated himself enough from the rest of that second tier of high school bats to put himself into this range. The Diamondbacks are one of the teams that I've heard who are specifically on him."
Lowrance is listed as a third baseman who has a bat that has generated a ton of buzz over the spring. He has a smooth left-handed swing where he makes consistent contact that plays to all sides of the field.
He will need to add some strength to maximize his ability, but with him coming out of high school, there is plenty of time to add that.
