Japanese free agent slugger Munetaka Murakami continues to be linked with several MLB teams in the offseason as his posting window is set to close on Monday at 5 p.m. ET.
While the Japanese slugger has been linked with several teams over the last few weeks, there has not been any concrete interest from an MLB team.
ESPN insider David Schoenfield urged the Chicago White Sox to take a gamble on the 25-year-old infielder. Schoefield highlighted the White Sox's need for power in the hitting order after another disastrous season in 2025.

Meanwhile, the Toronto Blue Jays, who were one of the teams previously linked with Murakami, is strongly linked with a reunion with All-Star shortstop Bo Bichette in free agency.
According to MLB insider Mark Feinsand, Bichette has informed a team that he is open to moving to second base, a position he played for the Blue Jays during their World Series run against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
“It seems like the message has gotten through to him that teams don’t view him as a shortstop in the long-term – or maybe even in 2026,” an anonymous source said to Feinsand. “His willingness to change positions can only help him in the market.”Red Sox linked with Bo Bichette amid reports of infield overhaul in offseason
Although the Blue Jays are pursuing a reunion with their former two-time All-Star in free agency, the Boston Red Sox are also interested in Bo Bichette as the AL East franchise looks to bolster its infield.
The Red Sox use Bichette at second base amid their reunion rumors with All-Star third baseman Alex Bregman, who opted out of his contract with Boston at the end of last season to become a free agent.
