Toronto Blue Jays rookie Trey Yesavage made his MLB debut in September and just one month later, he was one of the key starting pitchers in the franchise's deep run this postseason that ended with a World Series Game 7 loss against the LA Dodgers.
His short-lived yet impactful MLB career has many believing he can win the 2025 AL Cy Young. On Thursday, MLB analysts Nick Gosselin and Adam Macko debated whether the Blue Jays ace can win AL Rookie of the Year and the AL Cy Young.
Gosselin believes Yesavage will finish inside the top six in Cy Young voting, on top of winning AL Rookie of the Year.

Meanwhile, Macko went a step ahead and said he will win Cy Young as well as AL Rookie of the Year.
"I had him as well, Rookie of the Year. And actually, I went crazy. I said, and Cy Young," Macko said.It appears both the co-hosts of the Blue Jays Today podcast are convinced that Yesavage is in line for a great season.
Where Trey Yesavage stands in 2026 AL Cy Young and Rookie of the Year odds?
Trey Yesavage made three starts in the 2025 regular season, posting a 3.21 ERA with a 1.43 WHIP. It was his postseason performance that garnered him a lot of praise. He appeared in six postseason games, with five as starts, and recorded a 3.58 ERA with a 1.05 WHIP. He registered 39Ks against 11 walks in 27.2 innings pitched.
After a standout campaign in October, Yesavage is the early betting favorite to win the AL Rookie of the Year award for 2026, with odds around +190 to +200. Meanwhile, in the 2026 AL Cy Young race, he faced massive odds, with one sportsbook listing him at +2500 to win the AL Cy Young award.
It remains to be seen if Yesavage can win both awards, which would be a very rare event in the history of the sport.
