WWE and AEW are fierce rivals. Both companies have been signing each other's stars over the years, and it looks like this phenomenon is going to continue. Many former All Elite Wrestling names are currently thriving in NXT.
Former AEW Women's World Champion Mariah May signed with WWE earlier this year. Her name in the Stamford-based promotion is Blake Monroe, and she is one of the best booked stars in the company. The 27-year-old has held the NXT Women's North American Championship once, and it seems like she will get promoted to the main roster in a few months.
Monroe recently appeared on The Masked Man show. In this interview, she revealed why she left the Tony Khan-led company and joined World Wrestling Entertainment. The Glamour said that she wanted fresh challenges and to wrestle women she had never wrestled before.
"I've wrestled all over the world and I've moved countries a few times and I always pride myself on how I can adapt, how I can pick up challenges and that's kind of what motivates me ... there are so many women that are fantastic that I want to wrestle, I want to have storylines with and I think for me, it's just kind of focusing on what do I want to achieve at WWE and that's to tell these stories to make people feel something," she said. That was such a huge appeal," she said. The former Mariah May has immense potential and could win the NXT Women's Championship someday.
