During the 2023 MLB Draft, the Minnesota Twins took Luke Keaschall with the 49th overall pick. Soon after, he would go on to tear up the minor leagues.
It would not take long for him to make his MLB debut, doing so last season on April 18. However, his time in the big leagues would be short-lived.
On April 25, Keaschall suffered a non-displaced fracture in his right forearm after being hit by a pitch, and he was not able to return until August.

MLB analyst makes the case to stay away from Luke Keaschall in fantasy
Despite missing much of the season, Keaschall was stellar when he came off the IL. On August 11, he was named the American League Player of the Week after blasting two home runs, ten RBI, and batting .455.
But during the offseason, Keaschall would undergo surgery to address a lingering thumb injury. That has caused some fantasy owners to be a bit skeptical of him for the 2026 season.
Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter shares this sentiment, tagging Keaschall as one of the most overvalued second basemen.
"Keaschall had huge gaps between his real statistics and expected statistics last season, which is generally a good indicator of future regression. He has a strong hit tool and can be an above-average option at the position, but drafting him ahead of guys like Ozzie Albies and Brandon Lowe feels like a mistake."
For now, Keaschall's ADP is higher than both Albies and Lowe, who could be in store for monster seasons. For those strictly looking at ADP numbers, they could be burned this season.
There are potentially better options that owners could take later, which is the smart thing to do. Those who are high on the young slugger may just want to wait and see what he does this season.
