What does the Minecraft Neighborly mod offer?

Minecraft Neighborly is a great social mod that adds character-driven gameplay through a bunch of new friendly animals (a.k.a. neighbors) to the game.

These neighbors spawn in various biomes, and you can talk to them and befriend them through repeated interactions. When interacting with them, these creatures will display a dialog in the chat box. The reason why this mod is considered to be one of the best character interaction mods is that it contains over 250 lines of unique dialogue for depth of personality.

Each creature has a per-player reputation system that increases or decreases based on how much a player talks to them. Talking to each of them regularly increases your reputation in their system. This also results in you unlocking gift rewards once certain thresholds are reached.

Alongside interaction, you can gather specific resources to build customized houses for each character. Neighborly includes 12 unique house blueprints, each fitting for one of the creatures. Additionally, these homes can be placed in a player’s settlement to form a neighborhood. In essence, this mod focuses on adding more immersive and interactive gameplay.

How to download and install the Minecraft Neighborly mod?

Here is a short guide on downloading and installing the Neighborly mod to Minecraft:

1. Download and install NeoForge for Minecraft 1.21.8.
2. Head to CurseForge and search for the Neighborly mod.
3. On the mod's product page, find and download the mod file, which should be compatible with NeoForge 1.21.8.
4. Copy and paste the mod files into the "mods" folder in the root Minecraft directory. For me, it's C:\Users\admin\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft.
5. Open the title's launcher and find the NeoForge 1.21.8 modded game version.
6. Open the game, create a new world, and explore it to find various new neighbors that the mod adds. Alternatively, you can also check them out in creative mode by spawning them from their dedicated spawn eggs.
