Fans are unhappy with Mike Norvell after Florida State's disappointing 24-10 loss to the Clemson Tigers on Saturday. This loss resulted in the Seminoles putting up a 4-5 record after last week's 42-7 victory over the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.
After the game, fans on social media urged the Florida State Seminoles to fire Norvell and bring in a suitable coach as his replacement.
"I'm gonna kms. Mike Norvell has killed this program and it's pathetic," one fan commented.•

@JoshPateCFB Josh I’m gonna kms. Mike Norvell has killed this program and it’s pathetic
Other teams fan bases are trolling us with the war chant? Mike Norvell is so cooked. Just fire him now and let’s get it over with.
Like they need to fire norvell ass like yesterday night.
I really think fire Norvell and this team is immediately better. We have good enough players to win games.
Fire Mike Norvell. Goodnight
Clemson has been dreadful. Their offense is horrible and they are.lv9ung it regularly. Defense hasnt been good and they are keeping us out of the end zone. Im sorry the buyout is insane but Norvell cannot coach this team any longer this is just pathetic.
Norvell took over as the head coach of Florida State in 2020. So far, he has put up a 37-32 overall record with the team. During the 2023 season, he helped the program to an ACC championship. However, the team failed to qualify for the playoffs. Last season, the Seminoles finished with a disappointing 2-10 record, raising questions about Norvell's job security.
Following Saturday's loss to Clemson, if Florida State decides to fire Mike Norvell, then it would owe him around $59 million. He has the second-highest buyout in college football history, behind the $76.8 million that Texas A&M paid Jimbo Fisher back in 2023.
Mike Norvell shares his honest thoughts on disappointing loss to Clemson
In the post-game press conference, Mike Norvell praised the Clemson Tigers for securing the win. He also highlighted how the Seminoles missed several opportunities on the field, which resulted in the loss.
"Both teams came out and played hard, it was a fast and physical game," Norvell said as per Tomahawknation. "Unfortunately, we had too many missed opportunities. Looking back, throughout it, that first drive, defensively, we missed a lot of tackles. We were a little sloppy in some of our fits... I thought our defense settled in as the game got going. "We could not get ourselves into a rhythm because of a lack of getting some of those plays that were left out there. ... There were too many things that we left out there."Florida State is next scheduled to take on the Virginia Tech Hokies on Saturday, and it will be broadcast on ACCN at 7:30 p.m. ET.
