Mike Evans rumor reveals what Bills, 49ers, Giants have to pay in free agency

Mike Evans is set to hit free agency as one of the top receivers, and interested teams, such as the Buffalo Bills, San Francisco 49ers, and New York Giants, now know how much it could cost to sign the veteran.

CBS Sports' Jonathan Jones says that sources believe Evans will land a deal worth $20 million annually in free agency, though he might aim to receive a two-year contract worth around $25 million per year.

"His price is going to be difficult to gauge, though. He will be 33 this season coming off an injured year, and there aren't many comparisons to him out there. Evans may aim for something close to $25 million per year in what would amount to a two-year deal, but sources believe he will get something closer to $20 million per year," Jones wrote.

Evans had an injury-riddled 2025 campaign, as a shoulder injury limited him to just eight games and 368 receiving yards.

However, Evans can still be an impactful playmaker, and the Bills, 49ers, and Giants should have interest.

Buffalo must find a No. 1 receiver for quarterback Josh Allen, and though Evans may not be able to be the top pass-catching option for an offense anymore, he would still be a savvy veteran playmaker and red-zone threat for the Bills.

San Francisco's receiver room could look a lot different in 2025 with Brandon Aiyuk likely out the door and Jauan Jennings hitting free agency. Evans would inject some much-needed life into the position group.

New York could also look to upgrade the receiver room around quarterback Jaxson Dart, and pairing Malik Nabers, when he's ready to return from a torn ACL, with Evans would give Brian Callahan's offense a versatile receiver duo.

The 49ers have much more cap space than the Giants and Bills, so they could be a legitimate threat to sign Evans. However, all three teams should be in the market for the six-time Pro Bowler.
