Mike Brown eviscerates Knicks' effort in loss to Magic

The New York Knicks had a rough outing against the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night, suffering a 124-107 loss.

It was the second night of a back-to-back for the Knicks, after they picked up a win on Tuesday over the Memphis Grizzlies.

Head coach Mike Brown didn't want to hear any excuses after the defeat, though, and he made that clear in his postgame press conference following the defeat to Orlando.

"We're a no excuse team and if we're a no excuse team, we gotta go play the right way as best we can and not lay the blame anyplace else except square on us. It doesn't matter if we play three games in a row, we gotta go figure it out," Brown said to the press.

"If we can't, maybe I need to go deeper into the bench and play guys lesser minutes. We can't sit here and say 'well we played last night...' no, go win the game, play the right way, leave it on the floor."

Brown's comments are fairly poignant and could be directed at a few players who just didn't have it.

Mikal Bridges and Josh Hart were both benched to start the fourth quarter, and both had tough nights against the Magic.

Bridges only made three of nine shot attempts, while Hart shot four of 10, which could've led to Browns' comments about effort.

It was the Knicks' first loss of the season at Madison Square Garden, and hopefully it was the wake-up call they needed going forward in 2025-26.
