A WWE Hall of Famer recently shared his opinion about Mick Foley parting ways with the Stamford-based wrestling promotion. He thinks that the latter made a poor choice.
The 60-year-old walked away from World Wrestling Entertainment last week due to the company's close relations with Donald Trump. Mick Foley also revealed that he would not renew his Legends contract set to expire in June 2026. While many names from the wrestling world hailed The King of Hardcore for his decision, fellow WWE Hall of Famer, Kane, shared a contrasting opinion.
Speaking in an interview with Newsmax, The Big Red Machine claimed that he was not surprised, as he was well aware of Mick Foley's political beliefs, as he had several politics-related discussions with the former Cactus Jack. The veteran opined that although Mick Foley was entitled to his opinion, he was wrong.
"Well, certainly it's no surprise. I know where Mick [Foley] is at politically, and we’ve had our discussions about politics, and we've always been able to keep them civil, and I wish that could happen more on the public platforms altogether. One thing is we live in a country where we are free to disagree about things, and I think Mick is wrong, but nevertheless, he's entitled to his opinion. I will defend his right to say that, even if I do think he's wrong, and that’s the beauty of America. I wish that would kind of be all over the place as opposed to just wrestling," Kane said. Another popular WWE Hall of Famer shared his opinion on Mick Foley's departure from the company
In a recent edition of his Kliq This podcast, another WWE Hall of Famer, Kevin Nash, stated that he understood Foley's standpoint. The Big Daddy Cool claimed that he also received several text messages asking if he was also going to follow in the former Mankind's path.
However, Nash noted that he saw the McMahons and Levesques as his family. He added that his political differences did not affect their bond.
"I understand it. And if that’s how Mick feels, it’s like, I get it from Mick’s standpoint. But for me personally, because I had some people text me like, ‘Are you going to follow suit?’ I’m like, well, let me explain my position… I look at the McMahon-Levesque; I look at them as family. Like, that’s it. They’re just family to me… they’re my Republican family," Nash said.
