There’s a new favorite to be Michigan’s next head coach.

Arizona State’s Kenny Dillingham now has a 40 percent chance at landing the job, according to Kalshi, a New York-based financial exchange and prediction market.

In the hours after Sherrone Moore’s shocking firing, Alabama’s Kalen DeBoer had emerged as an early favorite. He has since dipped to 22 percent as of this writing, which are the second-best chances at Kalshi.

In what’s shaping up to be a three-man race for the job, Washington head coach and former Michigan assistant Jedd Fisch has the third-best chances at 20 percent.

The market has attracted more than $3.5 million in trading volume as of Saturday just two days after going live.

Dillingham has gone 22-16 in three seasons at Arizona State.

In 2024, Dillingham won the Big 12 Coach of the Year award after leading the Sun Devils to an 11-3 season and finishing No. 7 in the final AP poll.

This season, the Sun Devils have gone 8-4 under Dillingham and will face Duke in the Sun Bowl on New Years Eve.

Michigan is looking for a new coach since Moore’s firing on Wednesday after finding that he was allegedly involved in an “inappropriate relationship with a staff member.”

Moore was later arrested after allegedly breaking into an apartment belonging to his executive assistant, Paige Shiver, grabbing butter knives and kitchen scissors from a drawer, prosecutors said Friday.

Moore was charged with felony home invasion, and a pair of misdemeanors — stalking and breaking and entering.

Biff Poggi was named interim head coach of the Wolverines.

Michigan will play Texas in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl on New Year’s Eve.
