Michigan fans split on predicting Sherrone Moore's potential NCAA punishment

Following the NCAA’s hearing with Michigan this past weekend, fans are uncertain what sanctions – if any – will be handed to head coach Sherrone Moore in response to the Connor Stallions advanced scouting scandal.

SB Nation’s Maize n Brew Michigan fan site polled a group of Wolverine supporters to see what they think will happen to Moore.

Of the fans polled, 46% believe Moore will be suspended two games this upcoming season. This was the leading result.

Close behind was a 43% contingent that believes Moore will be suspended more than two games.

Lastly, the final 11% believe there will be no suspension at all for their head coach.

It is a fascinating situation as Moore was not the head coach at the time of the alleged Stallions incidents. At the time, he was an assistant on staff for Jim Harbaugh, who has since left to coach the Los Angeles Chargers.

With Harbaugh gone, is Moore just the fall guy? Or does he deserve to take responsibility for what is widely viewed as cheating by Stallions and the Michigan program?

All of this will soon be answered – at least in the NCAA’s eyes – when they officially make their ruling. For now, Michigan fans appear to be preparing for some sort of forced absence from their head coach to start the season.

The Wolverines’ first two games this season will be a home matchup against New Mexico and a trip to Norman to face Oklahoma. The second game especially could be an inopportune time for the Wolverines to not have their coach. Facing an SEC team on the road is no easy task, especially with the Sooners revamping their offense with new quarterback John Mateer.
