Michelle Beadle made a wild remark about Josh Giddey on Wednesday's episode of FanDuel's "Run It Back". During one segment of the episode, the show's panel discussed the next All-Star weekend with former NBA player Chandler Parsons joining them through a video call.
Parson expressed his disappointment in the recent All-Star weekends and said that players like Giddey won't be enough to attract a crowd to the arena.
"Kids aren't going to the All-Star weekend to watch Josh Giddey play basketball," Parsons said.•

However, Beadle saw the statement as a perfect opportunity to reference the Bulls star's tainted past.

"I bet one kid is," Beadle said. "It's in LA that's the closest stop to Australia. I guarantee one kid is there for Giddey."The former ESPN journalist cleverly referenced Giddey's troubled past, where he was accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a minor. In late 2023, Giddey was accused of dating a minor. An anonymous X user had accused the then-OKC Thunder guard.
The user had posted pictures of Josh Giddey with a girl on the internet, claiming that the former Thunder player was dating a girl from junior high, despite being 19 years old. The severity of the accusation drew major attention to the Bulls player, who refused to comment on the case.
Authorities launched an investigation against the then Thunder guard. However, they did not find anything authentic behind the anonymous claims. In January 2024, Newport Beach, California, police said that Giddey won't be facing any charges. The NBA had also launched an investigation into the matter, but came up short in its search.
Josh Giddey is on route to becoming an All-Star for the first time in his career
The OKC Thunder traded Josh Giddey to the Chicago Bulls in June 2024 following the resolution of the guard's controversial case. The Thunder acquired Alex Caruso from the Bulls in exchange. It was a successful trade for the Thunder as Caruso played a significant role in helping OKC win the 2024-25 championship.
Giddey, on the other hand, took the entire season to adjust to the new surroundings. However, the 6th pick from the 2021 draft is on a tear this season. He is averaging 21.4 points, 9.6 rebounds and 9.3 assists per game on 46.3% shooting from the field.
Right now, he is one of the best guards in the league, and if he continues to deliver at this elite level, he will most likely earn his first All-Star nomination this season. The Bulls have had a decent start to their season with a 6-4 record, and are the seventh team in the East standings.
