Miami vs. Indiana uniforms, explained: Inside the jerseys for 2026 College Football Playoff championship

The No. 1 Indiana Hoosiers will face the No. 10 Miami Hurricanes for a chance at football immortality. On Monday night, millions will watch the crimson of the Hoosiers clash with the all-white Hurricanes.

Although the game is played at Miami's home turf, Hard Rock Stadium, the Hurricanes are technically the away team.

There are many significant storylines entering this game, but none more unique than the fact that this year's National Championship game will mark the first time in history that both schools are Adidas-branded.

No matter the outcome, this will be the first Adidas-branded school to win a national title since 1998, when the Tennessee Volunteers won it all.

Indiana jerseys for the National Championship

While the Hoosiers team and fanbase will have to travel to Miami, they have been deemed the home team. Indiana will rock their crimson home uniforms with white pants.

The only difference for this specific circumstance is, of course, the beautiful championship patch. This addition has never had to be made on a Hoosier's uniform until now.

Their helmets will include the Block "I" with variations of striping on the rest of the uniform. Indiana has not been defeated this season while wearing these uniforms; in fact, they haven't lost a game in any uniform.

The first edition of the Adidas uniforms dates back to 2004, though many tweaks have been made over the last 22 years. In 2024, Indiana extended their partnership with Adidas, which will run until 2034.

It might be confusing, but even though the Hurricanes will be playing at home, they have been designated the away team. However, the Miami faithful don't mind, and it's for one major reason.

The Hurricanes will play for a title in their all-white road threads. The significance of this for those who are superstitious, Miami has not lost a game this season in these uniforms. In fact, they are 5-0 on the season and wore the same all-whites in their playoff wins over Texas A&M and Ohio State.

Despite this being an "away" game, it will feel anything but that for the Hurricanes. The university put out a statement to those planning on attending, encouraging the Hurricanes faithful to wear orange.

This will undoubtedly produce a striking contrast with the all-white uniforms on the field.
