The New York Mets have lost Edwin Diaz and Pete Alonso this offseason.
But the Mets have kept up a different trend: They keep taking players from the New York Yankees.
Already this offseason, star relievers Devin Williams and Luke Weaver have already signed for the Mets after leaving the Yanks.
Last winter, of course, the Mets took Juan Soto on board after his time with the Yankees.
Mets fans will be hoping there's another guy added to this trend: They want Cody Bellinger to make the move to Queens, too.

This isn't necessarily a brand new trend. Yogi Berra once managed the Mets, and there's a long list of players who have suited up for both sides of this equation.
Before interleague play, it was pretty much an entirely non-issue. Even now, it's not the same as the Red Sox and Yankees taking a player from one another.
It's still a fascinating trend, though.
Mets owner Steve Cohen proved with Soto that he's happy to pay up to get who he wants, and it appears the Mets may just take a little extra satisfaction from getting a guy to move out of the Bronx.
This offseason in particular, Mets fans won't be thrilled if the moves stop with just a couple bullpen guys. They could use an ace or a big bat. But there are still plenty out there, so there's time.
In the meantime, Williams and Weaver have a subway train to catch.
