Juan Soto just can’t catch a break.
The $765 million star has been off to an up-and-down start with the Mets as he begins his record-breaking 15-year pact in Queens.
Soto, who has just five homers this season, was robbed of a game-turning blast against the Cardinals at Busch Stadium on Sunday.
The right fielder drove an Andre Pallante fastball to centerfield, but Victor Scott II made a spectacular leaping catch to rob Soto of a three-run homer that would have broken a 4-4 tie in the top of the fourth inning.

Soto had a look of disbelief as he reached first base, as it could have been an early signature moment for him with his new club.
The ball was hit 105.9 mph and traveled 108 feet, according to MLB, but just not far enough to put runs on the board as the Mets tried to avoid a doubleheader sweep.

The Mets failed to score in the frame despite loading the bases with one out after a Pete Alonso walk as Mark Vientos struck out and Brandon Nimmo’s drive to right was snagged by a diving Jordan Walker.
Soto flied out to deep left in his next at-bat.
The Mets lost Game 1 of the doubleheader, 6-5, as Blade Tidwell made his major league debut.
Solo was hitting .258 with 14 RBIs and an .829 OPS entering the doubleheader.
The Mets entered Game 2 at 22-12 and in first place in the National League East.
