Mets get much-needed good news on Juan Soto to help stop losing skid

1 hour ago 4

The New York Mets are in the middle of a brutal 11-game losing streak. It's caused the Mets to slide all of the way to the bottom of the NL East, and the entire sport of baseball.

Things are not going well for the Mets at all this season. But, fortunately, it looks as if the Mets are getting some reinforcements soon.

According to The New York Post's Jon Heyman, the Mets are expected to get Juan Soto back on Wednesday after his calf injury landed him on the injured list earlier this year.

Mets plan for Juan Soto to return Wednesday

"Breaking: Current plan has Juan Soto returning to the Mets tomorrow," Heyman reports. "He's needed."

This is some great news for the Mets. Amid such a brutal losing streak, they're set to get their best player back. And do they need Soto back in the lineup?

The Mets' offense has been terrible this season, and Soto, the MVP-caliber slugger who's one of the best players in the sport, is exactly what this team needs.

Before his injury this season, which has caused him to miss a good amount of time so far, Soto was hitting .355 across 31 at-bats with 11 hits, two doubles, one home run, five RBIs, and a .928 OPS.

With how much the team has struggled, this report is some incredibly encouraging news for the Mets amid a brutal losing streak.

They have at least one more game on Tuesday night before they get Soto back. But it's against the Minnesota Twins, a team that the Mets should be able to beat.

But if they can't win on Tuesday night, and the losing streak extends to 12 games, then the Mets might get Soto back to stop the streak before it reaches a 13th game.

Soto is on the cusp of coming back to the Mets lineup. They need him, desperately, and it seems as if he's a day away from a return to the lineup.
