I love to cook, and I’ve got my Portuguese godfather to thank for that. He taught me everything he knows, from the basics to the kind of little tricks you only pick up by actually being in the kitchen with someone who knows what they’re doing. It stuck with me in a way I didn’t fully appreciate at the time, but now I’m grateful for it every time I make a good meal.
That’s why I like this Twitter thread so much. It’s not just about cooking, it’s about where those skills come from and the people who pass them down.
Turns out, everyone’s got a story behind it.
