The Chicago White Sox are a team that's trending towards being trade deadline buyers, but with a little under two months until the 2026 MLB trade deadline, they swung a trade with the Philadelphia Phillies as sellers.
According to ESPN's Jeff Passan, the White Sox traded Derek Hill and international bonus money to the Phillies in exchange for two prospects: Dylan Campbell and Jose Colmenares.
But who are these two new prospects coming to the White Sox? The Phillies sent a pair of interesting players to Chicago in exchange for Hill, as Colmenares and Campbell each are intriguing for different reasons.
White Sox fans, Meet Jose Colmenares and Dylan Campbell
Jose Colmenares, Shortstop
Colmenares is a 24-year-old infield prospect who, while not ranked highly in the Phillies farm system, is an interesting prospect.
At High-A this season, Colmenares has an .816 OPS in 126 at-bats with three homers and five stolen bases to go with a .278 batting average.
This season for Colmenares is a huge step in the right direction, as his career numbers are a .721 OPS and a .227 batting average during his minor league career.

Dylan Campbell, Outfielder
Campbell is a little younger at 23 years old, but he is also not a highly ranked prospect in the Phillies' farm system.
At Double-A this season, Campbell has a .693 OPS with a .216 batting average, seven homers, nine stolen bases, and 31 RBIs in 199 at-bats.
In his minor league career, Campbell has a .229 batting average and a .683 OPS with 87 steals and 32 homers. He might not be the most high-profile prospect, but the right-handed hitting outfielder does have some flexibility and talent defensively.

White Sox trade Derek Hill for two unranked Phillies prospects
Even though neither Campbell nor Colmenares is likely to make an impact at the Major League level right away, they're two depth options that give Chicago some options in the minor leagues.
With a potential trade deadline deal or two on the horizon for the White Sox, having any extra depth is better than having someone like Hill, who isn't likely to play much of a factor on the roster or in a trade.
