The Philadelphia Eagles have a sleeper who's ready to step up with A.J. Brown out.

His name is Darius Cooper, and no worries if you don't recognize him.

If things go the way Cooper wants, you may soon know all about him.

"Eagles WR Darius Cooper will play for the first time since injuring his shoulder against the Rams," wrote The Athletic's Brooks Kubena on X. "With A.J. Brown sidelined (hamstring), DeVonta Smith and Jahan Dotson are the main targets. But Cooper may have a shot at showing why he had an impressive preseason."

Who is Darius Cooper?

Darius Cooper is a 23-year old, undrafted rookie wide receiver for the Eagles.

He's originally from St. Louis, Missouri.

In high school, Cooper was a quarterback, and he went to college at Tarleton State.

At Tarleton State, Cooper converted to wide receiver.

And by 2024, he was a star. He was second in Division I with 1,450 receiving yards, grabbing 76 passes and scoring 14 touchdowns. He was chosen as an FCS First-Team All-American.

Darius Cooper 40 time

Darius Cooper ran a 4.49-second 40-yard dash at his Pro Day.

He went undrafted after measuring 5-foot-11, despite his 38-inch vertical jump and his huge college numbers.

The Eagles signed him after the draft, and he began the preseason with six catches for 82 yards and a touchdown in game one.

His shoulder injury early this season has prevented him from making a difference.

But his return coinciding with Brown's hamstring injury might give Cooper a chance at a true breakthrough in Week 8 against the New York Giants.
