Maxx Crosby trade rumor finally offers good news for Bears, Cowboys and Patriots

1 hour ago 2

The Chicago Bears, Dallas Cowboys and New England Patriots all figure to have interest in Las Vegas Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby.

However, most of the trade rumors have offered bad news, with the biggest one being the Raiders' reported asking price, which is two first-round picks and a player.

The belief is that no team will meet that price, hence it'll take Las Vegas budging for the Bears, Cowboys and Patriots to truly make a play for him.

In what is a bit of good news on Thursday, NFL insider Jordan Schultz reports that teams around the NFL are starting to believe the Raiders are more open to trading Crosby.

"Sources: Teams in the trade market have gotten the sense that the Raiders are more open to the idea of trading Maxx Crosby, and it’s a situation that is only going to intensify," Schultz reported.

This is great news for the Bears, Cowboys, Patriots, and any other Crosby suitor.

The fact that the Raiders are seemingly softening their stance on trading Crosby is a good sign that their price is going to be more realistic, which makes getting a deal done much, much easier.

Why Cowboys, Bears, Patriots need Crosby

The Cowboys have the most dire need at edge rusher, with the team needing two starters, including a top-notch one. Crosby would obviously check that box.

As for the Bears and Patriots, they are in better shape than the Cowboys, but they do need more juice opposite Montez Sweat and Harold Landry.

All three of these teams would happily do whatever it takes to fit Crosby's deal in, but the Patriots ($39 million in cap space) are best equipped to do so.

Meanwhile, the Bears and Cowboys are sitting with $8.1 million and $9.7 million in cap space, respectively.
