The Maxx Crosby-Raiders saga has taken an even wilder turn.

On Saturday, the same day the Raiders announced they were moving their star defensive end to the reserve/injured list in the wake of a mid-season knee injury, the 28-year-old Crosby posted a handful of clips to his Instagram Stories that featured him shooting hoops and moving on a trampoline.

One video captured by Crosby’s wife, Rachel, showed the five-time Pro Bowler lifting their daughter into the air while balancing on a trampoline.

Separate videos then showed Crosby playing basketball as his family watched.

Although it’s unclear exactly when the footage was taken, it marks another messy chapter between the parties.

On Friday — two days before the Raiders’ Week 17 matchup against the Giants, with the No. 1 pick in next year’s draft on the line — Fox Sports reported how Crosby left the team facility after he “vehemently disagreed” with the organization’s plan to sit him for the final two games of the year.

That came days after Crosby, the centerpiece of the Raiders’ defense, made it clear he wasn’t keen on tanking for the top selection of 2026.

“He knows that he’s banged up, so he’s talking about, ‘I’d like to get out of here.’ And I said, ‘Yeah, get out of here.’ So he took off,” first-year coach Pete Carroll said of Crosby, according to ESPN. “… This didn’t just spring on him. We’ve been talking about it, and it was exactly what you would think he would do and he should do. I agree with him 1,000 percent on how he responded, and I [would have] responded the same way.”

The Raiders expanded on their decision to shut down Crosby in a statement Saturday.

“We have made the decision to place Maxx Crosby on the Reserve/Injured list for the remainder of the 2025 season,” the statement read. “After deliberate and thorough consultation with multiple top medical professionals, it became clear that this decision is in the best interest of both the franchise and the player. Maxx is the ultimate warrior, and he has fought extremely hard to compete each week with his teammates since injuring his knee mid-season.”

The organization concluded its remarks by indicating where it views Crosby in relation to the future.

“We are grateful for his extraordinary contributions. He is a true Raider on and off the field – we look forward to his leadership and toughness into 2026 and beyond,” the statement read.

Crosby has been with the Raiders since 2019, when the team drafted him in the fourth round out of Eastern Michigan.

Kickoff between the 2-13 Giants and the 2-13 Raiders is slated for 4:05 p.m. ET.
