Caleb Williams' injury against the Minnesota Vikings was certainly a scary moment, and it's been at the top of the NFL news cycle ever since it happened on Sunday.
When Williams got injured, some criticized him being taken off the field on a cart, comparing it to former NBA player Paul Pierce's "wheelchair game" during the 2008 NBA Finals, where he was carried off the court in a wheelchair and came right back to the game. Well, Williams didn't come back, but he still got some jabs for it.
Maxx Crosby isn't buying into that criticism. The Las Vegas Raiders star discussed Williams on "The Rush with Maxx Crosby", where he pushed back on the idea that anyone watching from the outside can really know what a player is feeling in the middle of a wild injury scare. Crosby and co-host Brogan Roback also spent lots of time talking about what makes Williams such a special quarterback.

On the show, Roback questioned how anyone watching this game, not on the field, could possibly know what Williams was experiencing in that moment. Crosby had the same basic reaction.
"Everyone has an opinion about, 'Oh, why'd he react this way to this certain type of thing?' He might have never pulled a hammy in his life," Crosby said on the show.
That's really the point Crosby was making. An injury doesn't always feel the way it eventually turns out to be on a medical report. The first few seconds can be scary, when a player doesn't know what's really happening.
The talk eventually shifted from the injury to what Williams can do on a football field, and both say they're impressed by Williams. Really impressed. "I really never seen anyone play the game like he does at the quarterback position," Roback said.
Roback pointed to the way Williams can scramble, seemingly get himself into an impossible position and then somehow cap off an accurate pass deep downfield. Crosby sees the same thing in the budding quarterback.
"Then you got Caleb who's doing ... that is just different," Crosby said. "Not many people have seen it like that before."
Williams' injury has obviously become a focal point this week, but Crosby offered a different way to look at the moment.
