Martha Stewart’s longtime bestie and flack, Susan Magrino, knows where the bodies are buried, the domestic diva shared at the International Association of Culinary Professionals at the Venue at City Harvest in Brooklyn last week.
Stewart explained the importance of the daily phone calls she makes to keep Magrino “on her toes,” and tipped her hat to her loyalty amid the ups and downs of maintaining her empire.
“There was building. There was rebuilding a business. There’s also been my boyfriends that she’s kept out of Page Six,” Stewart told the crowd.
And if anyone knows about them, it’s Magrino, Stewart explained.
“She knows where all the bodies are buried, in Turkey Hill and in Bedford, and elsewhere,” Stewart said of her famous enclaves.
Tuccis and Delmonicos owner, Max Tucci, introduced Stewart, who then surprised Magrino by presenting her with the 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award.
The “Entertaining” author expressed how proud she to be a part of Magrino’s power roster, and even recalled offering her financial advice about taking a family loan to launch the Susan Magrino Agency years ago.
“She paid her dad back within a year, and I congratulated her and I was very proud of her,” Stewart said. “And now her business has really expanded exponentially, and she has the best people working for her, and I’m very proud to be a part of the organization.”
A gift for whipping up meals, however, is one skill the PR pro has yet to pick up from Stewart.
“She is not the cook, however. She knows a tremendous amount about good wine and good food and about chefs… maybe after the 40 years alongside me, she’ll take up cooking and become proficient at that,” Stewart quipped.
