Liberty coach Sandy Brondello’s departing message to rookie guard Marquesha Davis after last season was to let it fly from deep.
Davis, whom the Liberty picked No. 11 in last year’s draft, is a natural slasher and high-energy player.
But as the women’s game follows the men’s and shifts to a more positionless approach, the Liberty need Davis to be more comfortable keeping the defense honest to improve floor spacing.
Davis took and made only one field goal from behind the arc in 20 games last season.
