Marlins’ Dane Myers loses his mind after strikeout, snaps bat in half

6 hours ago 2

Dane Myers is having a breakout season at the MLB level for the Miami Marlins.

You wouldn't know it by his reaction to making an out on Thursday in San Francisco.

Myers swung through a two-strike breaking ball, and he wasn't happy.

As he stomped away from home plate, Myers snapped his bat in half over his leg. Then he chucked one half onto the dirt, then the second half, then his batting helmet.

Even after the rough moment, Myers is hitting .300 this season.

He has already played a career-high in games at the major league level. Before this season, the outfielder seemed destined to be a journeyman, but Myers has shown his bat can play in the majors.

He probably doesn't want to make a habit of breaking his bats in half, but sometimes, you've just gotta let your frustration out.

That's certainly what Myers did here, and it's a video that's tough to stop watching because of how entertaining it is from a neutral perspective.
