It's a big night for Seattle sports.
The Seattle Mariners play ALCS Game 7. The Seattle Seahawks play Monday Night Football. Even the Seattle Kraken are in action.
This is about as rare as it gets.
One poster on the SportsJournalists.com forum wrote that this is only the second in-market conflict of this nature, when a playoff baseball Game 7 overlaps with a Monday Night Football game.
The first: Oct. 27, 1986, when the New York Giants hosted Washington while the New York Mets played the Boston Red Sox in Game 7 of the World Series.
The games start in a staggered way, so if you want to watch a bit of everything, you'll have that chance.
The lineup, with times in Pacific Time:
- Seattle Kraken at Philadelphia Flyers, 4 p.m.
- Seattle Mariners at Toronto Blue Jays, 5:08 p.m.
- Houston Texans at Seattle Seahawks, 7 p.m.
The baseball game will be likely more than halfway home by the time the football game kicks off. It'd be logical to expect ALCS Game 7 to conclude by halftime of the football game, barring extra innings.
There are all sorts of ways to watch multiple games at once, so maybe that won't be a huge issue for fans, and sports bars in Seattle should be going wild.
It'll also be interesting to see if the Seahawks find ways in the stadium itself to put highlights or moments from the Mariners game on the scoreboard at any point. Fans will surely want to know what's happening.
It's gonna be a big night in Seattle, that's for sure.
