Two teams will punch their tickets to Indianapolis on Saturday, with a pair of Elite Eight games set to fill out half the Final Four in the 2026 NCAA men's basketball tournament.

First up is an all-Big Ten showdown in the South Regional final between No. 3 seed Illinois and No. 9 Iowa, the nominal Cinderella in this year's bracket.

The Hawkeyes took down another conference rival, Nebraska, in the Sweet 16, while Illinois posted an impressive win over No. 2 Houston in what amounted to a road game. The Illini beat the Hawkeyes 75-69 in Iowa City during the regular season behind 19 points from Keaton Wagler, but the stakes are much higher this time.

Speaking of Big Ten teams, yet another will be in action later Saturday as West Region No. 2 seed Purdue faces top seed Arizona in San Jose. The Boilermakers survived an epic shootout with No. 11 Texas on Thursday, capped by top scorer Trey Kaufman-Renn's putback in the final second.

The Wildcats, on the other hand, plowed No. 4 Arkansas 109-88 to reach the regional final for the first time since 2015 and look every bit like one of the favorites to cut down the nets. The Elite Eight has historically been a stumbling block for the program, though; Arizona has five losses at this stage since its most recent trip to the Final Four in 2001.
