The Toronto Maple Leafs apparently think very highly of Nicolas Roy.
Either that, or they think at least one potential trade partner will value him as much as the current asking price.
Because on paper, the Leafs are asking for a lot.
According to insider Frank Seravalli, Toronto wants a first-round pick and a prospect for Roy.
With the trade deadline on Friday at 3 p.m. ET, there's not a lot of time for another team to match that price. That's to say nothing of whether Roy is even worth that.
He initially came to Toronto over the summer. When the Leafs negotiated a sign-and-trade of Mitch Marner to the Vegas Golden Knights, it was Roy who came back in return for Toronto helping to facilitate the deal.

He's a 29-year old, 6-foot-4 center, but it hasn't come together for Roy in Toronto.
He has played 58 games, but in that time, he has just five goals and 15 assists for 20 points.
Roy has also added 61 hits and 32 blocked shots as he has played 14 minutes and 42 seconds of average ice time.
Roy's career-best season was 41 points for the Golden Knights two years ago. He also had a 39-point season two years before that.
He broke into the NHL with the Carolina Hurricanes for just seven games over two seasons before spending six years in Vegas.
Toronto may want to send Roy away now, but it could be tough at that asking price.
For a trade to truly come together, there might have to be some compromise.
