Toronto Maple Leafs coach Craig Berube implores his players to give it their all out on the ice, and sometimes, that can lead to injuries.
Berube himself has been added to the injury list after a mishap in the gym.
The Leafs leader revealed to reporters on Friday that he's now got a big gash, stitched up, across much of the top of his head.
"I had an accident in the gym yesterday," Berube said. "The other guy looks way worse, there was three of them. It was tough. It was just a bad accident. It's all my fault. I'm fine."

— TSN (@TSN_Sports) January 23, 2026Berube did confirm to the reporters gathered that he will indeed coach Friday night for the Maple Leafs.
Toronto is at home on Friday night against the Vegas Golden Knights.
The Leafs are coming off back-to-back losses, on Monday (6-3) to the Wild and then in overtime (2-1) to the Red Wings on Wednesday.
The Golden Knights are a notable foe, of course, because that's where Mitch Marner plays now. And the matchup becomes more interesting on Friday now that Berube will be behind the bench with the big cut across the top of his head.
