Man, 47, found dead with head trauma in NYC Parks Department truck on Randall’s Island: sources

A 47-year-old man suffering from head trauma was found dead on the bed of a city Parks Department truck in a Randall’s Island parking lot Friday morning, according to police and sources.

Cops are now probing the mysterious death after a Parks Department employee made the horrifying discovery around 7:21 a.m. in a restricted lot at the park’s Operations Building near Bronx Shore and Central roads, police and sources said.

First responders arrived and found the unidentified man unconscious and unresponsive with serious head injuries, and pronounced him dead at the scene, cops said.

Grisly images captured the man’s lifeless body lying in the truck bed among rakes and other park tools.

Police couldn’t confirm whether the man had died recently or had been dead for some time.
