Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and NYC Mayor Zorhan Mamdani attend the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum plaza in lower Manhattan on Friday, Sept. 11, 2026. The Issue: Mayor Mamdani and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez laughing at the 9/11 ceremonies.

Mayor Mamdani’s disrespect to all of the 9/11 victims, survivors, first responders and those who are still dying from 9/11-related illnesses was sickening (“Hizzoner’s dishonor,” Sept. 12).

Firstly, he showed up knowing he was not welcome. Second, he had a little laugh fest with his comrade, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

The permanent smirk on his face tells the story about his contempt for America and all Americans. His agenda is not to make New York City better but rather to create chaos and destruction.

Please, America, pay attention and don’t let him undermine our wonderful nation. I pray to God he’s not successful.

I was angered, disgusted and outraged by the sickening behavior of our stupid mayor and his equally stupid friend AOC during the 9/11 remembrance ceremony.

These two idiots were seen laughing while the names of victims were being read amid the weeping of families.

Mamdani should not have attended and his behavior shows us why. AOC shouldn’t have, either, because she seemed to regard this day as a joke. Neither should ever have been elected to office.

It doesn’t matter if a politician has a D, R, I, or anything else after his or her name: Public office requires you to subordinate yourself — your conversations, your politics, your personality, even your perfectly innocent human impulses — to the significance of the moment.

If Mamdani and AOC can’t recognize those moments, or put themselves aside for the duration of such moments, then perhaps they are not suited to hold office.

AOC and Mamdani disrespectfully laughing at the 9/11 ceremony and Gov. Hochul leaving early for a CNN interview only confirms how much they hate our country. We might as well have had three terrorists attending.

At the 9/11 ceremony, Mayor Mamdani and AOC laughed during the reading of the names. Maybe this was taken out of context — but they could’ve waited until the reading was complete to joke around.

The reading of the names of all who got killed that day is a solemn occasion and all the people there should give it their undivided attention.

I thought it was respectful for the mayor to attend 9/11 ceremonies and a good chance for him to learn who the actual victims were — not his aunt getting dirty looks on the subway because of her hijab.

Instead, it was just a funny day to yuck it up with AOC.

I can’t believe the total disrespect shown by AOC and Mamdani. Here we have children, some of them not yet born in 2001, crying about what happened. Meanwhile, these idiots are laughing. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Like two 5th-graders, AOC and Mamdani were giggling during the solemn reading of names at the 9/11 memorial. Each lacks respect and compassion for the victims and their families.

And to think this AOC character will be running for the presidency in 2028.

So many interactions at the 9/11 memorial ceremony: Mamdani and AOC having a few laughs and liberal politicians getting their face time.

This should be a day of mourning with no politicians in attendance, especially the liberals who welcomed illegal immigrants over the border during the Biden years.

Trump is not our friend — he is our protector. The left will never protect you, as they’ve proven time and time again. Also, academia must stop teaching revisionist history, or we will be doomed to repeat it.

Just one word is needed to describe AOC and Mamdani’s behavior during the 9/11 anniversary commemoration ceremonies: despicable.
