Paris Saint-Germain are set to host Atalanta at Parc des Princes in their first Champions League game of the 2025/26 campaign on September 17.
The 2024/25 season was a huge success for PSG, who claimed the Ligue 1 title and won the Coupe de France while also lifting their first-ever Champions League trophy in the club's history.
PSG have also made a great start to the ongoing campaign with four consecutive wins in their top flight, which ranks them first in the league table with 12 points. Back in August, the French side also claimed the 2025 UEFA Super Cup by defeating Tottenham Hotspur 4-3 on penalties, following a 2–2 draw at full-time.
Now, ahead of their Champions League opening match, PSG head coach Luis Enrique has expressed confidence in his squad, claiming that they aim to 'make history again.'
What did PSG boss Luis Enrique say?
While speaking in his pre-match press conference, Enrique shared his opinion that winning a title for the first time is 'harder,' making PSG's ambitions clear for this season as they eye their 'second consecutive Champions League' and said,
"The first title is always difficult because the players don't think they're capable of winning it. But we showed the way. Now, the whole of PSG and the young players want to win because they know they're capable. For me, it's harder to win the first than the second or third," as per GOAL.

"After winning European titles, our goal, along with the club, the city and our fans, is to make history again and win a second consecutive Champions League. We have to be ambitious."
Prior to their upcoming game on Wednesday, PSG have faced Atalanta only once, which was in a Champions League quarterfinal in 2019/20, and ended in a 2-1 win for the Parisians.
