“Love Island USA” star Jeremiah Brown rediscovered his love of books and reading during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“I was forced to sit with myself, and I didn’t like who I was. Reading helped me change that,” Brown — who started his own book club and has become a go-to BookTok influencer — tells Page Six.
The reality TV alum adds that reading completely changed his perspective on life, telling us, that books gave him “a second chance at life.”
See below for Brown’s six must-read book recommendations.
“Ego is the Enemy” by Ryan Holiday

“This is one of the first books I read on my journey into building a new perspective. This book showed me that I can grow in places where previously I thought it would be beneath me. Also, just basic human interactions, I don’t need to let the little things bother me or my ego.”
“When Things Fall Apart” by Pema Chödrön

“This is one of the best books of all time. I picked it up after my first relationship ended, and it transformed all of my relationships after I read it. I learned that obstacles in life are there for you, not against you, and that everything in life can be a lesson, even if that thing sucks.”
“The Mountain Is You: Transforming Self-Sabotage Into Self-Mastery” by Brianna Wiest

“I love this book because it made me realize that I kept a lot of old habits around, so I would stay comfortable. It taught me that the human body is made for comfort, not success. I learned to consciously watch my baseline levels of happiness and wealth so I can exceed them and not stay stationary.”
“The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom” by Don Miguel Ruiz

“Another all-time favorite of mine. These four agreements completely shifted my mindset and gave me so much freedom mentally. It broke a lot of self-limiting beliefs I had, whether I knew I had them or not. I try to live by these four principles every single day.”
“The Hate U Give” by Angie Thomas

“I read this book with my book club a few months ago, and it had me crying. It brought me back to 2020 when I was marching and protesting in Seattle with my friend Isaiah. It can be easy to achieve a certain kind of success and get comfortable, but this book really woke me up to the tragedies that still go on every single day.”
“The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck” by Mark Manson

“I read this book right after I drove to LA from Seattle by myself to chase my dream of modeling. I remember obsessing over every little thing after the move, and this book got rid of so much noise for me. It also fixed a lot of my values and narrowed my purpose into something I truly care about.”
