Louisiana high school football power John Curtis Christian unveils ’25 schedule

One of the blue-blood programs in Louisiana high school football has unveiled its upcoming season schedule.

John Curtis Christian, based out of the New Orleans suburb of River Ridge, has won 28 state football championships, the most of any program in Louisiana. The Patriots are now at work beginning to prepare for a run for their 29th title.

With that in mind, John Curtis has announced its 2025 season schedule, which will have nine regular-season contests.

The Patriots’ season opener is on Sept. 5 with a game in California against Los Angeles-area school Cathedral. It is part of the California Classic, and will be played at San Juan Hills High School in San Juan Capistrano. Kickoff time will be at 6 p.m. Central time, and 4 p.m. Pacific.

Then the following week, Sept. 12, John Curtis returns home to take on Northshore before having an open date on Sept. 19. John Curtis plays its home games at “The Shrine on Airline,” located in Metairie, La., which was the former home field for the New Orleans Zephyrs and New Orleans Baby Cakes, both Triple-A Minor League Baseball clubs.

Another key home game for the Patriots will be on Oct. 31 as they welcome in Edna Karr, which won the Division I Select state championship last season. John Curtis reached the Division I Select semifinals before falling to Alexandria.
