Los Angeles Dodgers already listed as team that could trade for star after another impressive offseason

The Los Angeles Dodgers have more than enough, but as all contenders have shown in the past few decades, they could once again look to improve their starting rotation at the trade deadline.

Yes, that even means an ace like right-hander Joe Ryan, who Mike Axisa of CBS Sports linked the Dodgers to.

Ryan is one of the more intriguing pitchers who could become available if the Minnesota Twins decide to move him this summer.

Ryan was heavily involved in trade rumors last year and again during the offseason, which made it somewhat surprising that he was still with Minnesota when Spring Training began.

"Who would have guessed Ryan would still be with the Twins when spring training opened given all the trade chatter last summer and over the winter? Perhaps Bailey Ober is the more likely trade candidate given the potentially lower asking price (Pablo López is no longer a trade candidate given his elbow injury), but frankly, I think both could be moved.

"Ryan has two years of control remaining, same as Ober, though he is the better pitcher and more attractive target. Squint your eyes and you can see the Twins staying in the postseason race deep into the season. I think it's more likely Ryan (and Ober and Ryan Jeffers) is firmly on the trade block come July. Another factor influencing Minnesota’s pitching situation is the health of Pablo López, who is no longer viewed as a trade candidate due to an elbow injury," he wrote.

While it's a bit surprising that he remains on the roster, moving him soon makes sense. Ryan posted a 3.42 ERA last season in 32 games and would fit in well on any contender, including the Dodgers.
