The Detroit Lions lost one wide receiver due to injury this week. They've added another WR to make up for the loss.
Neither player involved is a household name, but both are rookies trying to make a name for themselves.
The player lost: Kendrick Law. The fifth-round draft pick tore his ACL and will miss the season, head coach Dan Campbell told reporters earlier in the week.
Then on Thursday, the Lions announced the signing of wideout Kyre Duplessis.

Duplessis is an undrafted player. He started his college career with four seasons at Coastal Carolina.
In 2025, Duplessis finished his NCAA action at Delaware, and he had a 60-catch season for 824 yards and five touchdowns.
It'll be an uphill climb for Duplessis to make the Lions' roster, but he can try to prove he at least deserves a longer look on the practice squad.
It's also not a bad WR room for Duplessis to join and get to learn from. Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams both have lots of impressive NFL experience.
The Lions' WR3 job is expected to be held by second-year wideout Isaac TeSlaa.
Detroit's veterans beyond that have changed this season, with both Cedrick Wilson and Greg Dortch new to the equation.
The Lions also have a couple of other returning wideouts, Jackson Meek and Tom Kennedy.
Other players deep on the depth chart include Dominic Lovett and Malik Cunningham.
Duplessis could only have hoped for a shot, though, and he's got one, at least a bit, after this news.
