Lions' offense dubbed 'unstoppable' by NFL analyst in recent rankings

Despite losing offensive coordinator Ben Johnson this offseason, the Detroit Lions' offense is still widely recognized as one of the most potent units in football, with one NFL analyst dubbing the group nearly unstoppable.

Bleacher Report's Brad Gagnon recently ranked the best skill position groups in the NFL, and he slotted Detroit at No.3 on the list, only behind the Cincinnati Bengals and Philadelphia Eagles.

Gagnon listed quarterback Jared Goff, running backs Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery, wide receivers Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams, and tight end  Sam LaPorta as the key players of the unit.

"It's got to feel unfair if you're anyone else in the NFC North. As long as Goff can keep it rolling, this unit is almost unstoppable," Gagnon wrote.

The Lions don't have many weaknesses on offense, as the team boasts a versatile and productive run game with Gibbs and Montgomery, a dynamic receiving duo in St. Brown and Williams, and an efficient veteran quarterback in Goff.

Additionally, the offensive line, led by All-Pro right tackle Penei Sewell, is one of the most dominant groups in football and is the engine of the offense.

The departure of Johnson, who took the Chicago Bears head coaching job, isn't ideal. However, Detroit's offense will continue to be electric as long as the core is still together.
