Liam Delap hails Chelsea star as 'one of the best in the world'

Liam Delap has enjoyed a productive season in front of goal for Ipswich Town. Though the club has been relegated from the Premier League, Delap has given a good account of himself and looks set for a move away from the club in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Chelsea are reported to be one of the clubs interested in landing the 22-year-old striker, and the young man had something to say about the club.

During an interview with Sky Sports Premier League, Delap was asked to pick between England stars Jude Bellingham and Cole Palmer, and the Englishman had his say on the matter.

Delap shared how he was amazed by what Cole Palmer has been doing since moving to Chelsea and revealed how highly he rates Palmer.

“Him (Cole Palmer) and Macca (James McAtee) were both there behind me, and you know it helped me so much to score. To win games with them two behind me, it was so good to have two quality players like that.

“Obviously, Cole now – the stuff he’s done in the last two years is incredible, and he is one of the better players in the world at the moment.”

What Delap’s comments could mean for him and Palmer

It is important to note that Delap and Palmer have previously played together with each other during their time in the Manchester City academy.

The duo shares a great working relationship, and the stats are there to prove it. They have won 28 of the 33 games they have played together, and they have combined for 8 goal contributions during that period.

Delap has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, and the Blues could well take advantage of the duo’s bond if they are to convince him to make the move.
