The Miami Dolphins lost to the Cleveland Browns 31-6 in a brutal showing from both the offense and the defense. While the defense allowed the Browns to score a lot of points, not all of the 31 points was the defenses fault.
Tua Tagovailoa threw a pick-six, and nearly threw a second one later in the game. It was one of the worst performances of the year for Tagovailoa, as he threw three interceptions and threw for just 100 yards against a formidable Browns defense.
After the game, former longtime NFL running back LeSean McCoy laid into Tagovailoa for the poor performance against the Browns. He didn't just criticize his Week 7 play, he also questioned the front office's decision to pay him, and shared a NSFW message on Tagovailoa's decision to call out players for skipping meetings.
LeSean McCoy blasts Tua Tagovailoa after terrible Dolphins loss in Week 7
Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald, in a deep-dive into the regression of Tagovailoa, included a comment from McCoy that was critical of the Dolphins franchise quarterback on his show, the Speakeasy Talk Show.
"He stinks," McCoy said. "When they paid him, I couldn't believe it. Why are they paying him? What are they paying him for? The gig's up bro."

— Barry Jackson (@flasportsbuzz) October 20, 2025The Dolphins front office signed Tagovailoa to a huge $212 million contract through the 2028 NFL season. While Miami has an out of this massive deal in 2027, they are attached to Tagovailoa for at least one more year.
The reason is clear: if the Dolphins cut or trade Tagovailoa in 2026, they will be on the hook for $99.2 million in dead cap. No team can afford to take on such a monstrous cap hit in one season, and certainly not Miami who will be on the hook for a lot of money in the Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle deals.
While McCoy questioned the big-money deal for Tagovailoa, he also bluntly stated that the Dolphins quarterback "stinks." This season, Tagovailoa certainly hasn't been good.
He has an 82.8 passer rating, the lowest of his NFL career, and is also under 200 passing yards per game for the first time since his rookie season in 2020. He leads the NFL in interceptions with 10 through seven weeks, and he also taking sacks at a higher rate than ever before in his career.
McCoy's criticism of Tagovailoa didn't stop there either, as on the Speakeasy Talk Show, he had a NSFW message for Tagovailoa.
"He plays super soft in the cold, he got little arms, he can't throw far." McCoy said. "And you always got an excuse. I never seen a quarterback go up and you played (expletive) all game and then you get at the podium and you blaming everybody else. And then you telling the secrets in the locker room to the media. What owner, or what coach, or GM will want Tua on they team?"

— FinsXtra (@FinsXtra) October 20, 2025McCoy is critical of Tagovailoa's decision to speak to the media about his teammates, and also made some ridiculous critiques, saying the Dolphins quarterback has "little arms" and that he's "super soft" in the cold.
It's a brutal rant on Tagovailoa after a disastrous Week 7 performance. It doesn't help that this outing from the Dolphins quarterback came the week after he made critical comments of his teammates for missing or showing up late to meetings.
There are a lot of issues surrounding the Dolphins, and these two messages from McCoy on Tagovailoa highlight how the Dolphins $212 million quarterback has factored into the 1-6 record to begin the year.
