Leeds United take on Aston Villa in a Premier League match at Elland Road this Sunday.
Leeds are currently in 16th after a bit of a slide in form, while 6th-place Aston Villa are one of five teams currently on 18 points, meaning a win here could well propel them up into the top three.
So can Leeds pick up what would be a huge win, or will Villa's strong recent run continue?
Leeds United vs Aston Villa Head-to-Head and Key Numbers
- Aston Villa have an excellent recent record against Leeds, as they are unbeaten in their last six games with them in all competitions, winning four of them. The last time Leeds defeated Villa was back in October 2020, when a Patrick Bamford hat-trick handed them the win.
- After starting the season in relatively solid fashion, Leeds' form has taken a downturn as of late, and they have now lost four of their last five games, including their final two before the recent international break.
- Aston Villa, on the other hand, signed off for the international break after their best win of the season to date, a 4-0 thrashing of Bournemouth. Unai Emery's side have now won five of their last six league games with their only loss coming to Liverpool.
- Despite their worrying run of form in recent weeks, Leeds' home record is still a strong one. They have lost at Elland Road just once this season - to Tottenham in early October - and won their last home game, defeating West Ham 2-1.
- On the flip side, Aston Villa have only won once away this season, with that win coincidentally coming over Tottenham. Outside of that game, they have lost two and drawn two games on the road.
Leeds United vs Aston Villa Prediction
This could be seen as a key game for both of these sides, as Leeds will be desperate to turn their form around while Villa will want to follow up that big win over Bournemouth.
Leeds' strong record at Elland Road, as well as Villa's poor record in away games this season will give Daniel Farke's side hope, but it is worrying that they've conceded eleven goals in their last five matches.
That should be music to Villa's ears, particularly after their thumping win over Bournemouth, and so the prediction is an impressive away win.
Prediction: Leeds United 1-3 Aston Villa
