LeBron James is getting pitches from a bevy of NBA stars who want him to join their teams, and Draymond Green is one of them. The Golden State Warriors star has officially sent a pitch to James, and he's telling the world about it.
Will it work? Well, James hasn't confirmed a landing spot yet. But, when Green talks, people listen, and that includes James.
On Sunday, the former Michigan State player released an episode of his podcast, the Draymond Green Show, and admitted that he gave a pitch to James. It's not a surprise, but this is the first time Green has dished on what he said to James and how he's trying to get the 41-year-old veteran to Golden State.
Draymond Green issues his pitch to LeBron James to join the Warriors
"I'd be remiss if I didn't take the opportunity to throw my pitch in there," Green said on his show, as shared on X. "I'd be crazy if we're together for x amount of days and at no point am I like, 'Yo, we need to chop it up. What the hell (is) going on? What we doing?'"
He added, "Of course I did that, and of course the pitch was crazy... with the things I shared in it, it's definitely gonna make the brain work a little bit... but we wasn't going to hang out for a recruitment pitch."
Does it move the needle for James to join the Warriors? Frankly, these pitches do more than one might think. It has to mean something to James to know that the players he's going to be working with respect him and really want him on the team. So, this pitch could mean more than people realize.
Ever since James and the Los Angeles Lakers parted ways, he's been getting lots of interest. He doesn't appear to be in a rush to make a decision, so the NBA world has to wait.
